Description: My balcony will inspire recovery, cultivation, recycling, sustainability, creativity and social interaction. Here you can take a deep breath and fill your lungs with oxygen from the greenery and have your tactile senses stimulated by different textures and surfaces. The plants on the balcony are mostly edible and some of them are selected for their air purifying properties. All the furniture and textiles are either recycled or produced in a sustainable way. People, animals and plants should thrive in this natural environment.

Jury statement: Breathe in, breathe out! Here all our senses are stimulated with tactile materials, oxygenating plants and aesthetics. Amen to that.

Description: Welcome to our bubbling world of flowers! A magnificent floral dream where lush green plants and flowering plants form an oasis. A space for both relaxing solitude and energizing socializing. A place to relax in quiet solitude or to socialize together, where the creative space changes with the season. Here, some plants are given new expression in vases and bowls as cut flowers after they have been planted on the root. Others are faithful companions through all seasons and form interiors together with other furniture and props. A place to be at any time of day and any occasion, our balcony is as much a state of mind as a place, made to change according to our needs. Sometimes for bubbly ideas and creative work, sometimes for more quiet conversations or to close your eyes and listen to the soothing hum of bumblebees. With us, everyone is welcome and here the interaction with nature is given great space and the vegetation is also the most important guest on our balcony. The jury’s motivation: The balcony with aesthetic wow factor and colorful harmony that makes all of us in the jury want to sit down and have a glass of bubbly – or two!

“Where dreams come true” by Tina Johanesson, Garden Dreams by Tina

Description: An enjoyable balcony with space for dreams, relaxation and friends. Focus on nature and the natural cycle.

Jury’s motivation: A balcony for all seasons – aesthetically pleasing and well laid out. A beautiful place for socializing, growing and contemplation. Simple design tricks with natural materials provide many ideas for your own creation. There is room for evergreen plants, spring bulbs and perhaps climbing summer flowers in the growing boxes.

Winner of the Visitors’ Choice Gold Medal, Jury’s Choice:

“Trädgård för alla – Härodlat, närodlat och återbrukat” by Skillebyholms Trädgårdsutbildning and creator Jeanette Söderlund. The balcony won with 30.4% of the votes.

Jury’s motivation: Good environmental thinking combines cultivation and aesthetics with style-creating reuse. Mobilia constructions create endless possibilities and provide space for social activity.

“Pandora” by Systrarnas Trädgårdshandel AB and creators Linda Ettehag and Gabrielle Ettehag.

Jury’s choice:

“Växthusdrömmen” by Willab Garden and creators Hanna Schagerlöv and Rebecca Strömblad.

The jury’s motivation: “Balcony with several plant zones where you grow in a small area. The greenhouse provides shelter and peace from the weather and the city’s noise environment.”

Winner of the visitors’ choice:
“Växthusdrömmen” also won in the visitors’ choice. The balcony won with 24% of the votes.

“Trädgård i balkongformat – All seasons are beautiful” by Nora Trädgård and creator Brita Zettergren.

The jury’s motivation:
“A simple and peaceful oasis to relax in. The plants are in focus.

“Farbror Gröns balkong” by Johannes Wätterbäck and Theres Lundén

The jury’s motivation: “The balcony exudes the joy of growing, personal presence and playfulness. It stimulates the interest in growing and the intention to show the whole life of a grower has been fulfilled. Here we want to grow, here we want to bathe!”

This balcony also won the visitors’ choice.

The jury’s motivation: “With creative detail and innovative reuse, this balcony invites you to socialize and grow.”

“Näcken flyttar in” by Master Gardener students at Enköping University of Applied Sciences.

The jury’s motivation:“The scent of moss, rippling water, forest life. A balcony where a contemporary expression is combined with roots in Swedish nature. A clear interpretation of the fair’s theme that speaks to all our senses. A balcony where more people than just the woodpecker would enjoy!”

“Hipp hipp hurra” by Form and Function Garden, creator Cajsa Jacobsson.

The jury’s motivation: “A balcony that invites all senses and emotions to celebrate, socialize and relax. A clear interpretation of this year’s Summer Salon theme. Here, the visitor is offered light and creative ideas that can be implemented with a twist. Hip hip hooray.”

The jury’s motivation: “This year’s winner is a balcony that first and foremost signals a love of cultivation. It also has a clear world perspective and shows how cultivation is vital even for a city dweller. The balcony hits right in the middle of the green, urban, industrial trend. It is stylish, simple and extremely aesthetic.”

“Noah 5½ and the Snail’s Balcony” by Good Garden Design Scandinavia AB and creators Anette Blåberg and Katarina Blåberg.
